Getting out the gate

Win the first users by being meaningfully better.

Today we are optimized for learning - not for scale.

What we want to learn is can we get developers onboarded who are running long, price-sensitive work. We aim to do this by providing a service that sacrifices nothing other than latency (which they don't care about).

No sacrifices for a lower price feels like a layup for a future sales team once we're out of the artisanal woods.

Along the way, we're going to prioritize marketing. Again, nothing focused on scalability (like paid ads), but instead trust building.

This means open sourcing as much as possible - both our products, and our thoughts (like this one). Transparency is the foundation of trust.

Beyond this, we will use our online presence to demonstrate credibility because our customers will judge us on this before anything else. That means great design, spectacular launch videos, a mature website, and whatever else we can come up with.
